No. Laura suggests, you decide, every grade stays a Teacher Final Decision. Laura reads, sorts and comments on the stack; the judgement about the individual child is yours. Nothing is recorded without your confirmation.Data protectionWhat about data protection and pupil data?
You decide where processing happens. The local tier is the default, and it is more than a setting: while it is active, the server actively rejects every upload. If you want to go further, the self-hosting package puts Laura entirely on your school's own servers. Choose one of the European tiers and everything runs strictly isolated (each teacher sees only their own data) and fully logged. No upload happens without your click. Laura reads every page several times and adapts to each pupil's hand as she goes, the more she reads the more confident she becomes. Whatever stays uncertain is put in front of you for review. Laura does not guess; she asks.IntegrityDoes the teacher font look like deception?
No. The teacher font is an authorised digital correction style, your correction, in legible form. Every annotation is versioned and auditable: it stays traceable who wrote what and when. Transparency is not an add-on here, it is built in.PricingWhat does Laura cost?
Two tiers that build on each other. Tier 1 is a personal licence for the individual teacher, that is where you start. Tier 2 is Schule OS for whole staffrooms, scaled by number of teachers and invoiced, once your school wants to join in. Yes. You store assessment profiles per pupil, for instance grade protection for dyslexia. Sensitive cases trigger a mandatory review before anything is recorded. The pedagogical responsibility stays with you, Laura only makes sure no profile is overlooked.OfflineWhat if I am offline?
Then the offline outbox works for you. Your decisions are held locally and synchronise as soon as you are connected again, nothing is lost, and there is no silent overwrite. The train, the staffroom without wifi, the kitchen table in the evening: all of them are workplaces.

Which devices and browsers are supported?
Laura runs as a web app in current browsers on laptop and tablet, and you don't have to install anything. Even without a stable connection you can keep working: your entries stay local and sync automatically later.
How does Laura handle especially difficult handwriting?
In stages: first Laura reads locally and for free, several times, to be sure. If something stays unclear, she additionally asks a stronger AI that adapts to each handwriting. Barely legible passages go straight to the most precise stage and are also checked by you.
How does a pilot at our school work?
A single teacher starts right away, on their own. For a whole staff we connect the school, set up roles (management / school leadership / teacher) and hand the data protection officer the GDPR package. No big project, no marathon of committees.
Who has access to which data?
The school is a strict boundary, enforced technically and not just by a rule. Teachers see their classes, school leadership only aggregated figures, parents and students only what has been released. Every step stays fully traceable.
Can I cancel monthly?
Yes. Subscriptions can be cancelled at the end of the billing period; the details depend on the plan you choose. The full terms are in the terms and conditions.
